Voodoo Vince Review | Wanna see what I doo?

Image
If there is a genre of games I think pc gaming truly lacks behind is the 3d platforming, especially the kind of 3d platformer games that lean toward a more mature tone and I have found one in Voodoo Vince. Aesthetic s Reflective mirrors are a small and always appreciated detail The 3d graphics are typical of what could be experienced on the original Xbox, with a heavy usage of looks inspired by cartoons, but not leaning too much into the over saturation of the textures. This has been proven to be a winning strategy, since it manages to keep the game looking fresh even after many years from its original release. So is true for the animations, full of life and charm, plus the death animation of the enemies can be influenced by one of your voodoo powers(more on this in the game mechanics section), giving a nice little fun detail.

Zombie Night Terror Review | They're coming and they're hungry

Image
Does anyone else remember the zombie obsession around the 2010s? It seemed to be everywhere: movies, games and even books, no matter how niche something was it HAD to have zombies in it. Nowadays, it's all passed, but fragments can be seen from time to time and I'm happy to say that Zombie Night Terror is on the better side of products from this bygone era. Aesthetics The limited usage of colors ends up giving a unique look to the picture The pixel art used in the game is very detailed for the background, but a bit too simple for the characters for my taste, they could have received a bit more. The game compensates for this by a smart usage of the colors, using a very limited color palette for specific things gives the image an atypical look in a good way. This feeling applies to the particle details too, they're gruesome and let the imagination fly. The animations are quite detailed, sometimes a bit silly depending on the movements of the zombies, like how when they sprin

Etherlords 2 Review | Card collecting without the money sink

Image
Card games hold a special place in today's collective conscious, you can find many who enjoy this kind of hobby, both in the physical form with Magic the Gathering and in the virtual one with Hearthstone. One of the turn-off for this genre is the constant financial investment one has to do to keep up the pace with the latest packs or expansions, least one ends up with an outdated deck and gets easily defeated by other players with much deeper pockets. Etherlords 2 could satisfy those niche who wants to experience a deck based game without the fear of extra expenses. Aesthetics Bracing for the adventure The 3d graphics have aged decently, it's very easy to deduce that this is a game from 2003 due to the low resolution textures, but the decision to use a more colorful style instead of a realistic one allowed the looks to remain relatively vibrant and appealing to the eye. This general sentiment relates to the animations too, although the number of them can feel overwhelming and

A Fumble in the Dark Review | Hello from the other side

Image
After the good experience I had with the first game , I was eager to see how the new chapter, a Fumble in the Dark, would continue the story and it didn't disappoint. Aesthetics It may look like it needs repairs, that's because it does The pixel art graphics retain a similar style to its predecessor, with a small amount of details for the characters, but it's more vibrant and colorful this time around, definitely a step-up and it also has more varied visuals. The animations too are very similar, without receiving any kind of improvement or downgrade, still used here and there to not give a completely still image, but not full movements are used. The sequel hasn't received a dubbing or sound to simulate speech either, all dialogue texts are read silently. The soundtrack is fine, although I think is less memorable, I don't have any memory of any track. In short, there have been improvements on the visual design and the sound ones lacks behind.
