FAQ

Who are you?

Hi, I'm Mister Skeltal.

I review mainly pc games, but I do wish to write from time to time of Android games as well, if one of it is particurally interensting and relatively unknown.

What games do you review and why?

I review Indie games that I find interesting and retro-games "that nostalgia forgot", that is retrogames which so many reviews have gotten lost and it's very hard to find opinions on them.

How can I follow?

There is my Steam curator page here or twitter.

Why are the reviews are written like that?

The general structure that the reviews follow is this:

  1. Introduction: anything goes here, either some funny lines, a general fact that I found worth noting or simply some random thoughts about the game and the genre which is based on.

  2. Aesthetics: everything related on how the game looks plus things that make the experience prettier such as music and voice acting, gets written here.

  3. Game Mechanics: what you can do, how does affect the game-world and how it reacts goes here

  4. Narrative: story, setting, lore, the personality of the characters and anything like that goes here.

  5. Recommendation: a final write up of my thoughts about the game plus links to some online stores.

There are 2 reasons for the why: to make me write better and for the reader's convenience.

When I make a review, I have the fear that I might gloss over an element in particular, maybe because I got distracted by something else that I liked or not.
By writing the parts of a game in its own compartament, I minimize the possibility of such a mistake happening, plus it allows the reader to skip an aspect of the game that may not be interested.
For example, if you don't care about the graphics of game, you can just skip the aesthetics section and go straight to the game mechanics or narrative one.
