I am passionate of pc gaming and one aspect I like is the huge availability of retro-games on this platform.

Unfortunately, a lot of games are simple not easily available, either because the company that made them went bankrupt, or because they don't care about re-relasing them, or because they are in a legal fight on who owns the IP.

In recent years, there has been a big push for the preservation of old titles and a lot of good work has been done, but there are still a lot of games not available.

These lists are not complete by any means, it's just a bunch of games that to me look interesting/fun/thought "Sure, why not?".

I did not include games based on non-gaming original IPs since licensing rights are too much of a problem, so highly coveted games such as Battle for Middle-Earth 2 are not present.

Fixing/remastering a game is easier said than done, it would be no surprise if anyone would simply not be interested on working on such projects.

Luckily, there are companies that are specialized on doing such jobs.

These are the ones I know:

The most popular and well known, as of now they are busy with the System Shock remake.
Company focused on re-releasing older games.
They hold several IPs, exact number (possibly around 140) and which ones specifically unknown.
Nowadays they are working mostly behind the scenes, but they have done decent work in the past, such working on the modern release of Warlords Battlecry 3.
    • SNEG (steam, no official site yet, community manager here)

This team is quite new, they have released only few titles, but two of them are the classics Severance:Blade of darkness and Chasm: the rift.

Might deliver a lot of good remasters or re-releases.

The big question is "What can I do?" and I think the only thing is to spread the word.

If you by any chance know the IP owners of any of these games, please contact them and ask them to re-release/remaster them.

Even if they are unwilling to work directly, they may cooperate with one of the aforementioned software houses.
